Scholarships for Specialization in Family and Consumer Sciences

The Minnesota Association of Family and Consumer Sciences (MAFCS) sponsors scholarship awards.

Purposes:

• To recognize scholastic ability, leadership and professional experience

• To encourage students to continue their study in the field

• To provide financial assistance

Undergraduate Eligibility

• Currently enrolled as an undergraduate student in a Human Ecology or Family and Consumer Sciences major attending a college or university in Minnesota.

• A college junior or senior with an academic average of B or above (not less than 3.00 on a 4 point scale).

• Student member of AAFCS/MAFCS.

Graduate Eligibility

• Graduate students with a Human Ecology/Family and Consumer Sciences specialization at a university in Minnesota.

• Active or student member of AAFCS/MAFCS

Other Consideration for Selection

• Evidence of professional promise

• Evidence of service to the college or university and community

• Financial need

• Preference to a Minnesota resident

For 2009 - 2010 two $1000 Scholarships will be awarded.
